Montreal Alouettes Preview

Quarterback Davis Alexander has been steady for Montreal, completing 72.5% of his passes for 4,407 yards and 24 touchdowns this season. In the semifinal win, he threw for 384 yards and scored twice. Running back Stevie Scott III carried the load with 133 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Receivers Tyson Philpot and Tyler Snead both went over 800 yards during the regular season. Montreal averaged 24.7 points per game and used its quick passing attack to move the ball. The defense gave up 430 points in the regular season and was stretched by Winnipeg’s offense last week, so improvement on that side of the ball will be key. The Alouettes are 6–3 on the road and need to control time of possession to stay close.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Preview

Hamilton’s offense was one of the best in the CFL, scoring 525 points during the regular season. Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell led the way with 5,296 yards and 36 touchdowns while completing 68% of his passes. Kenny Lawler and Kiondre Smith combined for over 2,500 receiving yards, giving Hamilton big-play ability on the outside. Running back Greg Bell added 1,038 rushing yards and five scores. The defense allowed 27.6 points per game but has been solid against the run. The bye week helped Hamilton rest key players, and the Tiger-Cats have won five of their last six home games.

Hamilton won both regular-season meetings. The Tiger-Cats beat Montreal 35–17 in June at home and 26–9 in September on the road. Mitchell threw for six touchdowns combined in those two games, while Montreal managed only two offensive scores.
