On Sunday, SP Gage Jump (4-7) was roughed up for six runs in three plus innings during an ugly 11-0 home loss versus Detroit.

Twenty-seven year old left-hander J.T. Ginn (8-6 3.46 ERA) will be activated from the injured list to start for the Athletics. Ginn, who has been sidelined with a finger ailment, has fanned 100 batters and sports a 1.22 WHIP through 109 plus innings this season.

Reds Preview

The Cincinnati Reds have won six of their last ten games and are running out of time to make a move in the National League Wild Card standings. On Sunday, DH Nathaniel Lowe went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of RBIs to lead Cincinnati to a 10-2 home victory versus Pittsburgh. C Tyler Stephenson added a solo shot and a run scoring double for the Reds (53-58), who improved to 26-31 at home.

Cincinnati skipper Terry Francona will turn to twenty-nine year old righty Brady Singer (5-10 4.35 ERA) in the series opener. Last time out, Singer (4.1 IP) gave up six hits and four unearned runs during a 6-1 home loss versus Cleveland.
