Thirty-one year old righty Aaron Civale (5-4 4.88 ERA) has not looked good since returning to the rotation from shoulder tendinitis. In his last two starts, Civale has been tagged for 15 hits and eight runs while not lasting more than four innings.

The Los Angeles Angels are two games below .500 at home and are trying to climb out of the division basement. During Saturday’s home victory, Los Angeles OF Jo Adell went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored. 3B Denzer Guzman added two hits and drove in the go-ahead run for the Angels (35-49). SP Reid Detmers struck out eight batters across five plus frames and did not factor in the decision.

Twenty-four year old left-hander Sam Aldegheri (2-3 5.47 ERA) will make his tenth career major league start for the Angels. Last time out, Aldegheri (4.2 IP) surrendered two long balls and gave up five runs during a 6-1 home loss versus Baltimore.
