The Detroit Tigers are looking to snap a four-game losing streak and have seen their AL Central Division lead over Cleveland reduced to three. During Friday’s home loss, Detroit’s only offense came on 1B Spencer Torkelson’s fourth inning solo shot. SP Charlie Morton (9-11) was tagged for six runs and recorded just four outs for the Tigers (85-69), who fell to 46-33 at home.
The Tigers will counter with twenty-five year old righty Keider Montero (5-3 4.32 ERA) on Saturday. In his last start, Montero fired five shutout frames and fanned five batters during a 2-0 road victory against Miami.
