The San Diego Padres are a game below .500 at home and are sitting eight games off the pace in the NL West Division race. During Tuesday’s home loss, San Diego batters went 3-for-20 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base. 2B Fernando Tatis Jr. collected four hits and scored a run for the Padres, who fell to 34-32 overall.

San Diego first-year manager Craig Stammen will give the nod to veteran right-hander Michael King (4-5 3.41 ERA) on Wednesday. Last time out, King (6 IP) gave up six hits and four runs during a 5-0 home loss versus New York.
