OF Lars Nootbaar went 2-for-6 and scored a run out of the leadoff spot for the Cardinals (33-28), who improved to 17-16 at home.

St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol will give the nod to twenty-six year old lefty Matthew Liberatore (3-3 4.35 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Liberatore fired five plus shutout frames and fanned four batters during a 5-1 home victory versus Chicago.
