The New York Yankees are five games above .500 at home and are sitting comfortably atop the American League Wild Card standings. On Sunday, 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with a home run and scored twice to lead New York to an 8-3 home victory versus Toronto. All-Star DH Ben Rice went 2-for-5 and drove in two runs for the Yankees (74-56), who trail AL East Division leading Tampa Bay by three games.
New York skipper Aaron Boone will give the nod to twenty-seven year old righty Will Warren (8-6 4.43 ERA) in the series opener. Last time out, Warren (4 IP) allowed two runs and struck out five batters during a 5-3 road victory against Baltimore.
