SP Tarik Skubal (7-5) fanned 12 batters across seven-plus dominant frames to earn the win for the Tigers (50-54), who improved to 29-23 at home.

The Tigers will counter with 2018 number one overall draft pick Casey Mize (4-6 2.79 ERA) on Saturday. Through 80 plus innings, Mize has limited opponents to five home runs and retired 82 batters by strikes while posting a sparkling 1.03 WHIP.
