During Friday’s home loss, Miami batters went 3-for-11 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base. 1B Kyle Stowers went 4-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs for the Marlins (58-59), who fell to 34-24 at home. Miami 3B Leo Jimenez had an RBI single in the ninth inning as part of the team's 12-hit attack.
The Marlins will counter with 2022 National League Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara (12-6 3.68 ERA) on Saturday. Miami has won Alcantara’s previous two starts and he has not allowed a run across his last 13 frames.
