Last night, All-Star 1B Freddie Freeman delivered a go-ahead single in the eighth inning to lift Los Angeles to a 2-1 road victory against Detroit.

Two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell (2-1 2.57 ERA) will provide the Dodgers a huge lift down the stretch. In 21 innings this season, Snell has not surrendered a home run and has fanned 26 batters while posting a 1.05 WHIP.

Tigers Preview

The Detroit Tigers have dropped eight of their previous ten games and have fallen out of the American League Wild Card picture. During Friday’s home victory, Detroit batters went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. Rookie OF Max Clark gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead with a fifth inning RBI triple. SP Drew Anderson tossed four plus scoreless innings and did not factor in the decision for the Tigers (62-72), who fell to 33-34 at home.

Twenty-six year old righty Keider Montero (9-8 3.30 ERA) will head to the hill for the Tigers in this contest. Last time out, Montero (5 IP) gave up four hits and three runs during a 4-1 road loss against Pittsburgh. Montero ranks fifth in the majors with a 1.00 WHIP.
