The Marlins (21-25) have dropped 13 of their first 20 road games and are a distant fourth place in the NL East Division standings. On Saturday, 3B Javier Sanoja delivered a three-run double as part of an eight-run tenth inning to lift Miami to a 10-5 road victory against Tampa Bay.

Twenty-three year old righty Eury Perez (2-5 4.94 ERA) will make his tenth start of the year. The Marlins have lost Perez’s previous four starts and he has surrendered 14 runs across his last 21 plus frames.

Rays Preview

The Tampa Bay Rays have won eight of their last 11 games and hold a 1.5 game lead over New York for the top spot in the AL East Division. During yesterday’s home loss, Tampa Bay 3B Junior Caminero went 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs. RP Hunter Bigge was roughed up for seven runs in one inning and took the loss for the Rays (29-15), who fell to 15-5 at home.

Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash will give the nod to thirty year old righty Drew Rasmussen (3-1 3.16 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Rasmussen (6 IP) allowed three runs and struck out six batters during an 8-5 road victory against Toronto.
