C Jimmy Crooks contributed a two-run blast for the Cardinals (68-68), who improved to 34-36 at home. Rookie SP Quinn Matthews (1-2) lasted five plus innings and struck out seven batters to earn the win.

Twenty-nine year old righty Kyle Leahy (10-4 3.13 ERA) has put together a breakout campaign as a starter for the Cardinals. Over his previous five starts, Leahy (25 IP) has allowed just four runs and retired 27 batters by strikes.
