The Detroit Tigers are riding a four-game winning streak and are trying to climb back into the AL Central Division race. During Friday’s home victory, Detroit extended a one-run lead in the seventh inning on a two-run double from Gleyber Torres. OF Kerry Carpenter added a two-run blast for the Tigers (26-38), who improved to 15-14 at home.

Detroit skipper A.J. Hinch will turn to twenty-five year old righty Keider Montero (2-3 3.69 ERA) on Saturday. In his last start, Montero tossed six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits during a 2-1 road loss against Detroit.
