Red Sox Preview

The Boston Red Sox have split their previous ten games and are trapped in the AL East Division basement. During Friday’s home victory, OF Wilyer Abreu and Ceddanne Rafaela crushed solo shots to power the Boston offense. SP Connelly Early (3-2) retired eight batters by strikes and lasted seven innings to earn the win for the Red Sox (17-22), who improved to 7-11 at home.

Twenty-three year old left-hander Payton Tolle (1-1 2.04 ERA) will make his fourth start of the year for the Red Sox. Last time out, Tolle (7 IP) allowed two unearned runs and fanned eight batters during a 5-4 road victory against Detroit.
