The Spurs (2-0) currently lead the league in defensive efficiency and limited Dallas to 92 points in the season opener. On Friday, San Antonio needed overtime to escape New Orleans with a 120-116 road victory.
Victor Wembanyama led all scorers with 29 points (13-23 FG) to go along with 11 rebounds and nine blocks. San Antonio G Devin Vassell chipped in 23 points (6-14 3 PT) and five boards. Stephon Castle added 16 points, six rebounds, and six assists for the Spurs.
