The Cavaliers (3-1) led the league in offensive efficiency last season and currently rank in the middle of the pack in that category. On Monday, Cleveland built a 22-point halftime lead with their defense during a convincing 116-95 road triumph against Detroit.

All-Star G Donovan Mitchell poured in a game-high 35 points on 13-for-18 shooting and finished with a plus 38 rating. Cleveland C Jarrett Allen chipped in 20 points (7-12 FG) and seven rebounds. All-Star F Evan Mobley added 15 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists for the Cavaliers.

Celtics Preview

The Boston Celtics will be forced to play without injured F Jayson Tatum (Achilles) this season and are essentially playing out a gap year. The Celtics (1-3) rank in the middle of the pack defensively and are allowing 107.8 points per contest. On Monday, Boston outscored New Orleans by 23 points over the final 12 minutes to run away with a 122-90 road victory.

Anfernee Simons led all scorers with 25 points on 9-for-17 shooting and pulled down six boards in 32 minutes off the Boston bench. Payton Pritchard contributed 18 points and eight assists for the Celtics, who dominated the Pelicans on the glass by a 54-35 margin.
