Memphis Grizzlies vs Utah Jazz Picks and Predictions for Monday October 26 2026

By: Alex MacMillan Published 10/26/2026, 12:45 AM ET

Memphis already beat Utah by 20 points this season, and now the Jazz get another shot at the Grizzlies. The first meeting wasn’t particularly close. Memphis won 123-103, controlled the game, and never gave Utah much of a chance to get comfortable. But this one is in Salt Lake City, and the Grizzlies have to play Sacramento on Sunday before making the trip. That’s a different situation. Utah just beat New Orleans 120-119, and the Jazz have had a couple of days to get ready. I think this rematch is going to be much more competitive than the first one.

Memphis visits Utah at Delta Center on Monday, October 26, 2026. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:00 PM ET. The betting market hasn’t settled on a reliable consensus number yet. I’m interested in Utah +4.5 or better and Over 229.5 or lower. Those are betting thresholds rather than confirmed sportsbook lines. Memphis Grizzlies Have Started Strong

Memphis is 2-0 heading into Sunday’s game at Sacramento. The Grizzlies opened with a 123-103 win over Utah and followed it with a 111-108 victory at Golden State. That’s a pretty good start, especially winning in San Francisco. Memphis has been averaging 117 points while allowing 105.5. The defense has been much better than it was during some of last season’s rough stretches, and the Grizzlies have been able to score without relying on one player to do everything. The question is whether they can keep that going on consecutive nights.

Memphis has been shooting 46.8% from the floor and 37% from three through two games. Those are solid numbers, and the Grizzlies have also been playing at a quick pace. They scored 123 against Utah in the opener, which tells you they know how to attack this matchup. The Jazz struggled to keep Memphis out of the paint, and the Grizzlies took advantage. Utah will have to do a better job defending the basket Monday. Memphis has been much more efficient offensively than the Jazz, and that’s the biggest reason the Grizzlies won the first meeting so comfortably.

Ty Jerome has been one of Memphis’s main offensive contributors, and Zach Edey gives the Grizzlies a big target inside. Cameron Boozer has also been part of the frontcourt rotation, while Jaylen Wells provides perimeter defense. Cedric Coward has been dealing with a wrist injury, and Isaiah Stewart is doubtful with an ankle problem. Those absences could matter, especially with the Grizzlies playing Sunday. Memphis has enough depth to compete, but the rotation could get stretched if Sacramento turns into a physical game. The Grizzlies will need their bench to contribute Monday.

Utah Jazz Have a Chance to Return the Favor

Utah is 1-1 after losing 123-103 at Memphis and beating New Orleans 120-119 at home Friday. The Jazz were much better offensively against the Pelicans, and they found a way to win a close game. That’s encouraging after the ugly opener. Utah has been averaging 111.5 points while allowing 121, so the defense still needs plenty of work. But the Jazz are back at home, and they’ve had more time to prepare than Memphis. That’s a meaningful advantage when the opponent is coming off a game the night before.

The Jazz have been playing fast, and that can lead to some high-scoring games. Utah is shooting 46.5% from the field and 35.5% from three through two outings. Those numbers aren’t bad, but the defense has been giving opponents too many good looks. Memphis scored 123 in the first meeting, and New Orleans put up 119 Friday. The Jazz have to do a better job protecting the paint and finishing defensive possessions. They also need to make Memphis work on defense. The Grizzlies have been effective so far, but they haven’t had to deal with a back-to-back yet. Utah should try to push the pace and make those tired legs matter.

Lauri Markkanen remains one of Utah’s main scoring threats, while Keyonte George has been creating offense from the backcourt. Darryn Peterson gives the Jazz another option, and Jaren Jackson Jr. provides size and defense inside. Utah is missing Jusuf Nurkic with a foot injury, while Tony Bradley, Trey Alexander, and Blake Hinson are also sidelined. That leaves the Jazz short on frontcourt depth, which is a concern against Edey. Utah has to keep Memphis from getting easy baskets around the rim. If the Jazz can do that and get better outside shooting than they had in the first meeting, they’ve got a real chance to win.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Utah Jazz Picks and Predictions

Utah Jazz +4.5 or Better

I’ll take Utah if the Jazz are getting 4.5 points or more. Memphis won the first meeting by 20, and I’m not ignoring that. The Grizzlies have been the better team through two games. But this is a different spot. Utah is at home, Memphis has to play Sacramento on Sunday, and the Jazz have had a couple of days to figure out what went wrong in the opener. Utah also showed against New Orleans that it can score enough to win a close game. The Grizzlies could dominate inside again, especially with Nurkic out. That’s the biggest concern. But I think Utah makes this much tougher than the first meeting, and I’ll take the points.

Over 229.5 or Lower

I’m taking the over if the total is 229.5 or lower. These teams combined for 226 in the first meeting, and Utah’s offense was poor that night. The Jazz bounced back with 120 against New Orleans, while Memphis has scored 123 and 111 in its first two games. Utah has been playing fast, and the Grizzlies have enough offensive ability to take advantage of the Jazz’s defensive problems. The risk is that Memphis gets tired after Sunday’s game and struggles to score. But Utah should be able to push the pace, and I think both teams get into the 110s. A game around 118-115 would get us over.

Final Picks: Utah Jazz +4.5 or better and Over 229.5 or lower
