All-Star G Jalen Brunson tallied a game-high 31 points on 10-for-20 shooting and dropped five dimes. All-Star F/C Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 26 points and 13 rebounds for the Knicks, who clobbered the Celtics on the glass by a 53-37 margin.

The Miami Heat dealt G/F Jimmy Butler to Golden State at least season’s trade deadline and entered the 2025-2026 campaign as a team in transition. The Heat (1-1) are playing without injured G Tyler Herro and need to improve an offense that ranked in the bottom third of the league. On Friday, Miami erupted for 86 points during the first half and connected on 19-for-40 from long range during a 146-114 road victory against Memphis.
