The Phoenix Suns visit the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena in Denver, with the opening tip-off at 9:00 PM ET on Altitude Sports. Phoenix (1–0) opened with a 120–116 win over Sacramento. Denver (0–1) lost 137–131 in overtime at Golden State in its season opener. The Suns play the second half of a back-to-back after facing the Clippers in LA on Friday. Phoenix hit 47.4% from the field and won the rebounding battle 51–37 in its win over Sacramento. Devin Booker led with 31 points and 10 made free throws. Dillon Brooks scored 22, and Grayson Allen added 18 with seven assists. Ryan Dunn led with 10 rebounds as Phoenix controlled the paint and turned defensive rebounds into transition points.

The Suns need better perimeter shooting after hitting 29.4% from three. The bench contributed 46 points, providing much-needed scoring with Jalen Green still out. Phoenix forced 15 turnovers and came up with seven steals, showcasing strong perimeter pressure on defense. Limiting second-chance points will be key against Denver’s size and rebounding.

Denver shot 53.7% from the floor and 40.0% from three, but gave up 137 points in its overtime loss to Golden State. The Nuggets lost despite 50 points from Aaron Gordon. Nikola Jokic posted a triple-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Jamal Murray scored 25 with 10 assists. Despite strong shooting, the Nuggets could not hold off Golden State in the fourth and ran out of gas in the overtime period.

Denver’s offense moved the ball well with 31 assists, but the Nuggets need to play better defense in the paint at the other end. Cameron Johnson and Christian Braun combined for only 11 points, leaving Jokic with too much of the scoring burden. The Nuggets return home looking for more balanced scoring and better defense.
