Phoenix enters at 1-0 after edging Sacramento 120-116, while Los Angeles looks to recover from a 129-108 loss at Utah in its opener. Suns Preview

Phoenix started the season strong behind a 47.4% shooting night and 51 rebounds against the Kings. The Suns’ balanced game plan saw six players score in double figures, with several players supporting the team’s stars. The ability to dominate the glass with a 51-38 rebounding edge in the opener helped the Suns to the win. Phoenix also produced seven blocks and seven steals, which gives opponents an idea of how strong the defense is.

Clippers Preview

The Clippers opened the season with defensive problems against Utah, surrendering 129 points and 44.3% shooting while losing the rebounding battle 51-38. Despite 28 assists, Los Angeles couldn’t find any consistency on offense, relying too much on isolation play in the half-court. If the Clippers can improve ball movement on offense, open shots will come. Defensively, the Clippers must clean the glass and not give the Suns second looks.

From a betting standpoint, Los Angeles opened as a 9.5-point favorite with a total of 228.5. The Clippers are priced at -380 on the moneyline, while Phoenix is at +290. That spread feels too big after seeing the Suns move the ball and finish around at the rim in Game 1. Phoenix’s interior activity and rebounding advantage could keep this closer than projected, particularly if Jalen Green (GTD) plays significant minutes. On the other side, Jordan Miller’s status (GTD) could slightly impact the Clippers’ backcourt depth but should not be significant.
