Portland Trail Blazers vs Los Angeles Lakers Picks and Predictions for Tuesday October 27 2026

Portland has opened with two wins, and both have been impressive. The Lakers are 3-0 and just scored 132 in Utah. Somebody’s unbeaten start is getting tested here, and I’m not convinced the Trail Blazers deserve to be dismissed just because they’re walking into Los Angeles.

Portland Has Come Out Firing

The Trail Blazers are 2-0 after beating Phoenix 124-83 and Sacramento 128-120. That’s 126 points per game. Yes, it’s a tiny sample, but the offense has looked confident.

The 41-point win over Phoenix was particularly impressive because Portland dominated both ends. Against Sacramento, the Blazers showed they could keep scoring when the opponent pushed the pace.

The concern is facing a Lakers team with more offensive firepower than either of those opponents. Portland must defend without fouling and avoid giving Los Angeles easy transition points.

Los Angeles Is Winning With Offense

The Lakers are 3-0 after beating Golden State 127-105, the Clippers 125-117 and Utah 132-123. That’s an average of 128 points per game. They haven’t needed a lot of defensive perfection to win.

But look at the points allowed: 105, 117 and 123. Opponents have been finding scoring opportunities, and Portland has enough early-season offensive momentum to exploit them.

Los Angeles has home court and the more established winning foundation. But laying a large spread against a team averaging 126 points isn’t particularly appealing. The Lakers need to make Portland work defensively instead of simply trading baskets.

Portland Trail Blazers +6.5 or Better — Target

I’ll take Portland with at least 6.5 points. The Lakers should be favored, and their offense has been terrific. But Portland has been scoring freely and already handled Phoenix convincingly. The Blazers should be able to keep pace for stretches. The biggest danger is Los Angeles taking over late with superior half-court execution. Still, I like the points.

Over 227.5 or Lower — Target

I’m taking Over 227.5 or lower. Portland’s first two games produced 207 and 248 combined points, while the Lakers’ three games totaled 232, 242 and 255. The 207-point Portland opener is the warning that pace isn’t guaranteed, but both offenses have been productive. My projection is approximately 122-118 Lakers.
