Campbell had a rough start to the season in Madison, giving up 96 points while shooting just 44.2% from the field. The Fighting Camels struggled to contain Wisconsin’s offense, losing the rebounding battle 38–30 and committing too many turnovers to stay competitive. Last year, Campbell went 15–17 overall and 7–10 on the road, averaging 70.2 points per game while allowing 67.8. Improvement on the boards and more consistent scoring will be key if Campbell wants to keep this one close.

West Virginia Preview

West Virginia looked sharp in its opener, holding Mount St. Mary’s to just 54 points on 40% shooting. Josh Floyd led the Mountaineers with 25 points while hitting nearly 70% of his shots, showing confidence as a go-to scorer. The Mountaineers forced 13 turnovers and won the turnover margin easily, setting an aggressive tone in the first game. After finishing 19–13 last season, including a 13–4 mark at home, West Virginia seems intent on reestablishing its defensive intensity and transition game early this year. The Mountaineers still need to tighten up on the glass after grabbing only 29 boards in the opener, but the overall energy and pace were promising.

This matchup heavily favors West Virginia. Campbell doesn’t have the size or bench production to match the Mountaineers across 40 minutes, especially on the road.
