Holy Cross Crusaders Preview

Holy Cross showed a strong offensive effort in its opener despite losing. Guard Tyler Boston led with 25 points, six assists, and four rebounds on 46% shooting, while forward Aiden Disu added 16 points and five boards. Gabe Warren and DeAndre Williams combined for 24 points, giving the Crusaders multiple scoring threats on the perimeter.

The Crusaders shot 41.5% from the field and hit 10 three-pointers, but allowed Providence to score 89 points on 53% shooting. Forward Aidan Richard pulled down 10 rebounds but struggled from the floor, going 1-for-6. Holy Cross moved the ball well but must improve defensively in the lane and on the boards to compete with BYU’s size.

BYU Cougars Preview

BYU opened the season with a solid 71–66 win over Villanova. Freshman forward AJ Dybantsa led the Cougars with 21 points, six rebounds, and three assists, while guard Richie Saunders followed with 15 points and seven boards. Robert Wright III chipped in 14 points, and forward Keba Keita added eight points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.

The Cougars shot 39% from the field and 67% from the line, but controlled the boards with a 43–33 advantage. BYU’s defense limited Villanova to 6-for-25 from three-point range, showing poise in late-game situations. With Dybantsa already making an impact and the frontcourt performing well, BYU has the talent to control both ends at home.

Holy Cross at BYU Prediction

Holy Cross played well offensively in its opener, but lacks the size and defense to match BYU inside. The Cougars’ rebounding and defensive pressure will set the tone early, and depth will carry them through the second half. Final Score Prediction: BYU Cougars win and cover ATS, 85–64.
