The Fordham Rams will look to rebound from a disappointing home loss when they host the Mount Saint Mary (NY) Knights at Rose Hill Gym on Friday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET on ESPN+. Fordham enters at 0-1 after dropping its opener to NJIT 72-61, while Mount Saint Mary travels in from the Division III ranks of the Skyline Conference for an exhibition matchup in the Bronx. Fordham struggled to find consistency in its first outing, shooting just 39 percent from the field and 27 percent from beyond the arc. Guard Darius Reaves provided the lone offensive spark with 21 points on 60 percent shooting, but the Rams could not overcome turnovers and poor ball movement. Playing at home for the second straight game, Fordham will look to generate more offense while tightening up its defense. The Rams’ returning players should help stabilize things, as they look to reestablish strong scoring inside and get to the free-throw line more often after attempting just nine shots at the stripe against NJIT.

Fordham’s overall track record inside Rose Hill Gym is strong. The Rams were 10-5 at home last season and typically play better overall on their own floor. Reaves will again be the focal point, but the Rams need support from their frontcourt, which combined for just 16 points in the opener. Limiting Mount Saint Mary’s second-chance opportunities and setting a faster tempo could help Fordham take control of the game early.

Mount Saint Mary enters this exhibition-style matchup looking to gain valuable experience against Division I competition. The Knights, led by Head Coach Ryan Kadlubowski, return several veterans, including guards Brenden Graham and Liam Lynch, along with forward Conor Gemmill. This group has seen multiple seasons together and is expected to provide stability against a much deeper Fordham team. The Knights will try to keep the pace deliberate and rely on disciplined half-court play to avoid turnovers and long scoring droughts that have hurt them in past non-conference road games.
