Baylor vs UCF Picks and Predictions for Friday October 30 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 10/26/2026, 07:02 PM ET

Baylor and UCF both come into Friday at 4-3, and the oddsmakers have made the Knights a small favorite at home. I get the home-field angle. Orlando can be a tough place to play, especially on a Friday night. But Baylor has been moving the football much better than UCF, and the Bears have one of the better run defenses in the country. That makes this matchup interesting. UCF likes to run the ball, and Baylor has been shutting down opposing running games. Something has to give.

Baylor visits Acrisure Bounce House in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, October 30, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET on ESPN. UCF is favored by 2.5 points, with the total available around 47.5 to 49.5. The early forecast calls for temperatures near 77 degrees, winds around 9 mph, and a 17% chance of rain. Weather shouldn’t be a major factor unless that forecast changes. Keep up with the college football action with our free college football picks.

Baylor Has Been Better Than Its Record Suggests

Baylor is 4-3 overall and 2-2 in Big 12 play. The Bears have been one of the more productive offensive teams in the conference, averaging 29.1 points and 436.2 yards per game. That’s a pretty good offense for a team getting points on the road. Baylor has also been excellent defensively, allowing only 16.1 points per contest. The Bears have played a somewhat easier schedule than UCF, and that’s worth considering. But the numbers are still impressive. Baylor has been outscoring opponents by 13 points per game, and that’s a stronger margin than UCF’s.

The Bears have been throwing the ball extremely well, averaging 286 passing yards per game. That’s one of the better marks in the country, and it gives Baylor a real advantage against a UCF defense allowing 236.8 through the air. Baylor also averages 150.2 rushing yards, so the offense isn’t completely one-dimensional. The bigger advantage might be on defense. The Bears allow only 86.7 rushing yards per game, ranking among the top ten nationally. UCF averages 162.2 on the ground, and that’s a matchup the Knights have to be worried about. If Baylor takes away the run, UCF will have to rely on a passing game that’s been much less productive.

Baylor’s defense has also been getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, recording 22 sacks through its first six games. That’s one of the better totals nationally, and it could cause problems for UCF. The Bears have been much better against the run than the pass, but their pass rush helps cover some of those weaknesses. Baylor’s offense does have a tendency to play fast, averaging around 83 snaps per game. That can create plenty of scoring opportunities, but it also puts pressure on the defense if the Bears go three-and-out. Against UCF, Baylor needs to avoid turnovers and make the Knights earn their points.

UCF Has Been Tough at Home

UCF is 4-3 overall and 2-2 in Big 12 play. The Knights have played one of the tougher schedules in the country, and that’s an important part of this matchup. UCF averages 32.7 points per game and allows 23. The offense has been productive enough, although it hasn’t generated as many yards as Baylor. The Knights are averaging 354.9 yards per contest, and they’ve been more efficient in the running game than through the air. UCF also gets the home field, which could make a difference in a close game.

The Knights average 162.2 rushing yards and 192.7 passing yards per game. That’s a pretty clear indication of how they want to play. The problem is Baylor’s run defense. The Bears are allowing fewer than 90 rushing yards per contest, and UCF might have trouble establishing its usual offensive rhythm. The Knights have been pretty efficient when they do throw, completing around 68% of their passes. But they haven’t been generating many big plays through the air. If Baylor forces UCF into third-and-long situations, the Knights could struggle to sustain drives. That’s where the matchup starts leaning toward the Bears.

UCF’s defense has been solid, allowing 355.2 yards per game, including 118.3 rushing. That’s a respectable unit, but Baylor’s passing game presents a difficult challenge. The Knights allow 236.8 passing yards per contest, and Baylor has been throwing for nearly 300. UCF has been good at creating turnovers, carrying a plus-four margin, and that could be the difference if the Knights win. They also have the home crowd and a tougher schedule behind them. But I don’t think those advantages completely erase Baylor’s edge in offensive production and run defense.

Baylor vs UCF Picks and Predictions

Baylor +2.5

I’ll take Baylor getting 2.5 points. UCF has played a tougher schedule, and the Knights are at home, so I understand why they’re favored. But Baylor has the better overall offensive numbers, a stronger defense, and one of the best run-stopping units in the country. That’s a bad matchup for a UCF offense that relies heavily on the ground game. The Knights could win if they force turnovers and get enough production through the air. But I think Baylor’s passing attack gives the Bears more ways to score, and their defense should make UCF work for every yard. I’ll take the points, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Baylor wins outright.

Under 49.5

I’m going under 49.5. Baylor has been allowing only 16.1 points per game, and UCF’s offense could have trouble running against that defense. The Knights have been solid defensively themselves, allowing 23 points per contest. Baylor plays fast, which is the biggest concern for the under. The Bears run a lot of plays, and that can create more possessions than you’d normally expect. But I think UCF will try to slow the game down and establish the run, while Baylor’s defense makes that difficult. Something around 27-20 Baylor makes sense, and that keeps us under.

Final Picks: Baylor +2.5 and Under 49.5
