The Missouri State Bears visit the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Wednesday at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with kickoff at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN2. Missouri State is 2–3 overall and seventh in Conference USA after a 27–22 loss to Western Kentucky. Middle Tennessee sits ninth in the C-USA at 1–4 following a 24–16 defeat at Kennesaw State and will look to rebound at home. Score the winning TD with college football free picks.

Missouri State Preview

Quarterback Jacob Clark leads the offense with 1,195 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and six interceptions. His connection with Dash Luke has kept the passing game steady, with Luke posting 310 yards and two scores. Missouri State has alternated wins and losses through five games but has stayed competitive in all but one, including a 21–20 road win at Marshall.

Running back Shomari Lawrence provides the offense with balance, totaling 286 rushing yards on 66 carries. The Bears rely on consistent early-down better than average gains to help Clark stay ahead of pressure when dropping back to pass. Defensively, Mitchell Toney and Jared Lloyd each have multiple sacks, while linebacker Kanye Young leads with 29 tackles. The front seven has limited big gains and kept Missouri State within reach late in the fourth quarter.

Middle Tennessee Preview

Nicholas Vattiato has thrown for 1,125 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions, working mostly through short passes. His top target, Nahzae Cox, has 341 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The Blue Raiders move the ball effectively but continue to struggle in the red zone, often settling for field goals.

Running back Jekail Middlebrook has been a bright spot, averaging 5.8 yards per carry with 340 rushing yards. On defense, Parker Hughes leads with 42 tackles, and safety Juwon Gaston has two interceptions. The front has 10 sacks but remains vulnerable when allowing too many yards on the ground, as the pass rush becomes less effective.

Missouri State vs Middle Tennessee Prediction

Missouri State’s steadier passing and solid ground game give the Bears an advantage. Clark’s accurate passing and Lawrence’s consistency give the Bears an overall advantage that the Blue Raiders will not overcome. Final Score Prediction: Missouri State wins and covers ATS 24–20.
