Northern Illinois snapped a three-game skid with a 21–7 win over Ball State, but remains near the bottom of the MAC West standings. Toledo sits fourth in the conference after a 28–7 loss at Washington State and needs a win to stay in contention for bowl eligibility. Northern Illinois Preview

The Rockets are averaging 26.5 points per game and 6.1 yards per play while ranking among the MAC’s top offenses in red-zone conversion rate.

Linebacker K’Von Sherman leads the defense with 56 total tackles, while defensive end Malachi Davis has a team-high 4.5 sacks. Safety Braden Awls has made four interceptions and anchors a secondary that’s allowing just 6.8 yards per pass attempt. Toledo’s defense is giving up 21.5 points per game and continues to play well at home, allowing fewer than 20 points in three of four games at the Glass Bowl.
