San Jose State enters 2026 with major changes on offense after turning the ball over 27 times last season, including 17 interceptions. The Spartans still moved the football, finishing with 4,827 total yards and converting nearly 43% of their third downs. Senior Luke Weaver takes over at quarterback, while Sacramento State transfer Jordan Anderson joins a receiving system that has consistently produced strong numbers through the air.

The defense also faces significant turnover after recording only 17 sacks last season. Linebacker Ethan Powell returns after making 37 tackles and will take on a larger role, while transfers Isaiah Buxton and Brian Dukes add experience to the secondary.
