SEC Conference foes will clash on Saturday night, when the Vanderbilt Commodores invade Williams-Brice Stadium to battle the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Commodores (2-0) are fresh off their first conference winning season in more than ten years and are hungry for more success. On Saturday, Vanderbilt erased a ten-point halftime deficit to earn a 44-20 road triumph against Virginia Tech.

Vanderbilt took their first lead of the game late in the third quarter on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Diego Pavia to Tre Richardson. Sedrick Alexander put the game out of reach with two rushing scores for the Commodores, who outgained the Hokies by an impressive 490-248 margin.

South Carolina Preview

Despite winning nine games in 2024 and being one of the hottest teams during the second half of the year, the South Carolina Gamecocks were left out of the College Football Playoff. The tenth-ranked Gamecocks (2-0) lost plenty from that squad and find themselves last in the conference in total offense (290.5 ypg). Last week, South Carolina erupted for 21 points during the third quarter to pull away for a 38-10 home victory versus South Carolina State.

South Carolina took a 14-3 lead in the first half on two Vicari Swain punt return touchdowns of 65 and 42 yards. LaNorris Sellers completed 11 of 19 passes for 128 yards and a 35-yard touchdown to Vandrevius Jacobs. The Gamecocks managed just 253 yards of total offense against the FCS Bulldogs.
