Wood and C Keibert Ruiz hit solo shots in the seventh inning to give Washington a 3-2 advantage. Matt Krook (0-1) blew his second save and took the loss for the Nationals (48-47).
Thirty-seven year old righty Miles Mikolas (3-7 5.78 ERA) is no longer a quality starting option at the major league level. Last time out, Mikolas (6 IP) was tagged for nine hits and seven runs during a 12-11 home victory versus Houston.
