Now sitting at 4-4-2, Buffalo has managed to stay competitive in nearly every outing but has had trouble closing games. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is the expected starter, looking to earn his first win of the season after a no-decision earlier in the year.

Buffalo has been getting solid puck movement through the neutral zone and has shown it can generate chances from all four lines. If they can keep possession numbers up and force Boston into defending longer shifts, it could wear down the Bruins’ blue line. Special teams could tip the scale either way, but Buffalo’s ability to create chaos in front of the net could be key.

The Boston Bruins come in at 5-7-0 after snapping a losing streak with a much-needed 5-2 win over the New York Islanders. It was just their third win in the last ten contests, and despite the offensive breakout, consistency has been a concern. Jeremy Swayman is projected to start and enters with a 3-4-0 record.

Boston has had defensive lapses in transition and has been outshot in multiple recent games. Swayman has kept them afloat in several matchups, but if Buffalo gets bodies to the crease and keeps up their recent shot volume, it could be difficult to contain.
