Columbus Blue Jackets vs Philadelphia Flyers Picks and Predictions for Tuesday October 27 2026
Here’s a game where somebody has to win, even if neither team has made a particularly convincing case for itself. Columbus hasn’t scored enough, Philadelphia has been worse, and the Flyers have already allowed 42 goals. If you’re expecting pretty hockey, you’ve wandered into the wrong bar.
The Blue Jackets visit the Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Puck drop is 7:00 PM ET. A reliable consensus betting line was not confirmed, so my targets are Columbus moneyline at -125 or better and Under 6.5 goals. Get in on all the heart pounding action with our free NHL picks.
Columbus Needs to Make Its Opportunities Count
Columbus is 4-5-0 through nine games, with 22 goals scored and 30 allowed. That’s only 2.44 goals per game, which explains why the Blue Jackets haven’t been able to put together a consistent winning stretch. They haven’t been getting blown away offensively every night, but too many shifts end without sustained pressure.
The defense has been shaky, allowing 3.33 goals per contest. That’s not a particularly comfortable number when your own offense averages fewer than two and a half. Columbus needs cleaner exits and fewer giveaways through the middle of the ice.

Still, this is a favorable matchup. Philadelphia’s attack has been even less productive, and Columbus should get opportunities against a defense surrendering more than three goals per game. The Blue Jackets don’t need to turn into an offensive powerhouse. Three goals might do the job.
Philadelphia Has to Find Some Scoring
The Flyers are 3-7-3 after 13 games, with only 24 goals. That’s 1.85 per game. You can play terrific defense and still have trouble winning with that kind of production. Unfortunately, Philadelphia hasn’t been playing terrific defense either.
The Flyers have conceded 42 goals, an average of 3.23. That leaves a lot of pressure on a forward group that hasn’t consistently finished chances. Philadelphia needs more traffic in front and better execution on its scoring opportunities.
The home ice helps, and Columbus isn’t exactly a juggernaut. But if Philadelphia gets behind early, chasing the game has been difficult. The Flyers need to make this a low-event contest, protect the puck and hope their special teams provide a difference.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs Philadelphia Flyers Picks and Predictions
Columbus Blue Jackets Moneyline — Target -125 or Better
I’ll back Columbus at a reasonable price. Neither club is playing winning hockey consistently, but the Flyers are averaging fewer than two goals a game. That’s a hard team to trust, even at home. Columbus has enough offense to take advantage of Philadelphia’s defensive mistakes. The concern is the Blue Jackets’ own defensive problems, but I’ll take the team with a little more scoring ability.
Under 6.5 Goals — Target
I’m looking under 6.5. These teams have combined for only 46 goals in 22 total team games. Yes, both defenses have leaked goals, so this isn’t automatic. But the offenses haven’t shown enough finishing ability to make me comfortable betting on a seven-goal night. I see something like 3-2 Columbus.
Final Picks: Columbus moneyline (-125 or better) and Under 6.5 goals
