Ottawa Senators vs Los Angeles Kings Picks and Predictions for Thursday October 29 2026
Los Angeles has won three games all season. Three. The Kings have played eleven, and they’ve scored only 28 goals. Now Ottawa comes to town with eight wins and a pretty decent road record. I know the Senators just got beat 4-1 by Vegas, but I’m not going to get carried away with one loss. Ottawa has been the better team, and I don’t see a good reason to take Los Angeles here.
The Senators visit the Kings Thursday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. Puck drop is 10:00 PM ET. Ottawa has been winning more consistently, while the Kings are still trying to figure out how to score. I’m taking the Senators on the moneyline and looking at Under 6.0 goals. Ottawa Senators Have Been Winning More Than They’re Losing
Ottawa is 8-5, and the Senators have been one of the better teams in the Atlantic Division through the first few weeks. They started 5-1, hit a rough patch, then got things going again. Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Vegas wasn’t pretty, but that’s going to happen when you’re playing a good team on the road. Ottawa has been able to bounce back from losses this season, and I think that’s what we’ll see Thursday.
The Senators have scored 37 goals and allowed 38 in thirteen games. That’s 2.85 scored and 2.92 allowed per night. Those aren’t overwhelming numbers, but Ottawa has been doing enough to win close games. The Senators have also been better at finishing chances than Los Angeles. That’s important because the Kings haven’t been giving opponents a ton of easy goals lately. Ottawa might have to work for its offense, but it has enough scoring to get the job done.

The Senators need to be careful about penalties. Los Angeles hasn’t been scoring much at even strength, so giving the Kings a bunch of power plays would be a good way to make this game harder than it needs to be. Ottawa has been winning by playing a fairly balanced game. The Senators don’t need to chase offense against a team that’s struggling to score. Keep the puck moving, make Los Angeles defend, and wait for a mistake.
Los Angeles Kings Can’t Find Enough Offense
Los Angeles is 3-6-2, and the Kings have been having a miserable start to the season. They lost their first six games before finally getting a win. They’ve played a little better since then, but Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Chicago was another reminder of the problem. The Kings can defend well enough to stay in games. They just can’t score enough to win them.
Los Angeles has scored 28 goals and allowed 37 through eleven games. That’s 2.55 goals scored and 3.36 allowed per game. The Kings have been getting some decent defensive performances lately, but the offense hasn’t followed. They’ve scored one goal in four of their eleven games. That’s not going to win many nights in this league. Ottawa isn’t a shutdown defensive team, so Los Angeles should get some chances. But the Kings have to finish them, and that hasn’t been happening often enough.
The Kings have also been poor at home, going 0-3 in their first three games at Crypto.com Arena. That’s a strange start for a team that usually expects to be tough in its own building. Los Angeles needs a good first period Thursday. Fall behind early against Ottawa, and the Kings might spend the rest of the night trying to force something that isn’t there. I don’t like their chances if they’re chasing the game.
Ottawa Senators vs Los Angeles Kings Picks and Predictions
Ottawa Senators Moneyline
Give me Ottawa. The Senators are 8-5, the Kings are 3-6-2, and Los Angeles has scored only 28 goals in eleven games. That’s enough for me. Ottawa has been the more reliable team, and I don’t trust the Kings to suddenly find three or four goals against a decent opponent. The concern is that Los Angeles has been keeping games close lately, and one good goaltending performance could steal a win. But the Kings have to score too. I like Ottawa to get a couple of goals early and make Los Angeles chase the game. Senators win on the road.
Under 6.0 Goals — Target Total
I’m taking Under 6.0. Los Angeles is averaging 2.55 goals a game, and the Kings have been struggling to score even when the defense gives them a chance. Ottawa isn’t putting up huge offensive numbers either, averaging 2.85. I don’t see a lot of reasons to expect a seven-goal game. The danger is Ottawa getting a couple of early goals and Los Angeles opening things up, which could create more chances both ways. But I think this stays fairly tight. Something like Ottawa 3-2 works for me, and six gives us a push.
