Phoenix fought hard in Game 1 but could not close it out late. Kahleah Copper led the Mercury with 21 points, hitting five shots from deep. Satou Sabally added 19 points and 4 assists, while Alyssa Thomas nearly posted a triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Thomas continues to drive the Mercury offense in the postseason, averaging 18.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 9.1 assists. Sabally adds 17.9 points per game with strong inside scoring, and Copper stretches defenses with her outside shooting.
