SP Shota Imanaga (9-8) was roughed up for eight runs in five plus innings and took the loss for the Cubs (89-70), who fell to 47-31 at home.
Chicago manager Craig Counsell has not announced a starting pitcher for the series opener. The Cubs currently rank eighth in the majors with a 3.81 ERA and are lining up their rotation for next week’s Wild Card round.
